The additive manufacturing accelerator of ThinkIn 3D Mataró has opened its doors with the aim of making 3D printing accessible and, moreover, fostering industrial innovation. This initiative allows startups, SMEs and micro-enterprises to experiment with additive manufacturing technologies, incorporating them into their production processes to improve competitiveness and sustainability. Indeed, the inauguration event brought together key representatives from TecnoCampus, the City Council of Mataró and the Fundación Incyde, highlighting the importance of collaborative work and the long-term vision.
The inauguration event and the business context
On March 23, the additive manufacturing accelerator was officially inaugurated. Indeed, Josep Lluís Checa, CEO of TecnoCampus, highlighted that 127 companies have been contacted, 58 of which have shown interest in collaborating with ThinkIn 3D, and 21 already want to integrate into this incubation space.
Lecture on the potential of additive manufacturing
José María Cabrera, professor and director of CIM UPC, presented a lecture on the innovative potential of 3D printing. Moreover, he emphasised that additive manufacturing breaks with traditional manufacturing. This allows for local production, short series and great adaptation to customer needs.

Javier Collado, CEO of the Fundación Incyde, stressed that the success of ThinkIn 3D Mataró is based on collaboration between different entities: TecnoCampus, the City Council of Mataró and the Fundación Incyde. In this way, this collaboration ensures that companies have comprehensive support in incorporating 3D printing.

Sergi Morales, Councillor for Employment, highlighted that the accelerator is a space where companies of different sizes can test the technology. They can also integrate it into their production processes, improving competitiveness.
